I am a West Virginia native now residing in central Illinois after a thirty-five year residence on Florida's east coast. At an early age, I was influenced by my uncle, an artist by profession, when he remarked I would never become an artist because the lines I drew were too controlled. I believed him, until one day in my late forties, I began drawing, discovering my controlled lines were a strength, not a weakness. As I continued drawing, I proved my uncle more artist than prophet, learned there are many avenues for artistic expression, and reminded myself we never know the impact our words might have on others. These lessons I like to share whenever possible.
Through my vivid and delicate ink drawings, I capture the world as I perceive it. I also enjoy watercolor, sometimes working entirely in watercolor or adding splashes of color to my drawings. Currently, I am collaborating with my writer husband on a book of art and poetry.
